I'm not one to obsess about aging, or rather reversing the signs of aging, but I do enjoy eye creams and have tried quite a few different brands and formulas over the past several years. Since I'm constantly looking for ways to make my own all-natural beauty products, I decided to try mixing a few ingredients that I know to be good for the delicate skin around the eyes to create a simple eye cream at home. I used vitamin E, which helps to banish puffy eyes, and grapeseed oil because it helps alleviate dark under eye circles. I also added lavender oil, a known wrinkle fighter with calming, stress-relieving properties. My homemade eye cream was far less expensive than any eye cream I've ever purchased, and was a total cinch to make.
DIY Eye Cream
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1 teaspoon grapeseed oil
1 vitamin E capsule
lavender essential oil, optional
small container
Melt coconut oil, either on the stove or in the microwave.

Add the grapeseed oil, and break open the vitamin E capsule and squeeze the contents into the melted coconut oil. Stir to combine.
Add a few drops of lavender oil, if you want a scented cream, and stir.

Pour into a small container (I used an old GLAMGLOW Supermud container) and refrigerate to return the coconut oil to solid form.
Use a toothpick or skewer to stir and make it fluffy once it's solid, and use whenever you're ready. I like to keep mine stored in the refrigerator for a refreshing, cooling finale to my nighttime beauty routine.

ReplyDeleteYou still look great! But this is really simple and inexpensive, so it's worth a try if you want to start preventive care.
